Based on our recent research and talent market assessment, most companies still consider succession planning unpleasant to think about, so they put it off , often until a crisis forces their hand.  Most companies executing a CEO succession under pressure face significant challenges in sourcing, hiring and integrating those new leaders into their business.  Another trend in C-level talent market that we observed is the recent rise of opportunities across North Africa and the Middle East (particularly the Gulf) regions. Australian executives are often targeted for their adaptability, cultural awareness and ability to drive results. We see C-suite talent leave our shores to follow opportunities, which offer new challenges, autonomy and significant financial benefits.
